This is a cache in a series along a section of the North Country Trail. To access this section, start at the NCT Trail crossing on M-28, near Soldier's Lake and head north or start at the crossing on Salt Point Road and work your way south. There are several other minor USFS roads to work from. Use your maps wisely. Many of these roads are sandy and require a wise choice of vehicle. Choose wisely.
Here is a cache series along the North Country Trail (NCT). The entire trail starts in New York and ends in North Dakota. America's longest scenic trail runs 4,600 miles and covers 7 states including downstate and Upper Michigan. We placed several caches on this trail north of M-28 to Salt Point Road. They are accessible from either end. This trail segment, while only 7ish miles long, follows the high ground near wetlands. If you find our coordinates to be off, please list the co-ords you found to be most helpful. Due to iffy GPSr reception, all are placed very near a blue blaze and are named by some attribute we found on the trail. Caches are all hidden in a similar fashion, and are approximately 1/2 mile apart. Caches can be found in summer and winter. Have a good hike and have fun.
