Geocache Description:

On September 17, 2019, 3rdWheel, Valhikes and I attempted to "populate" the upper section of the Horn Canyon Trail, but I left a very small gap Pine Post and OOTA: Catalina View II.  Today, I filled in that gap.

Why did I do it?  You could say that I wanted to "fully populate" the Horn Canyon Trail for the convenience of all other geocachers.  Or maybe I was practicing "defensive geocaching placement" so I wouldn't have to walk the 3.3 miles up to this geocache when, not if, some geocacher filled the gap. I'll let you decide.

In any case, this is a pill bottle under a SPOR on the right side of the trail if you are hiking AWAY from the Pines Campground.

At one time the Horn Canyon Trail was fully populated with geocaches, an OVC tradition. But over the years, a few geocaches have gone missing and been archived. In December 2017, the Thomas Fire destroyed eleven of the 13 remaining geocaches.  Today, hiking with ShearBear64, I am returning this trail to its "fully populated" glory.
