Geocache Description:

The Southern Highlands, also locally referred to as the Highlands, is a geographical region and district in New South Wales, Australia and is 110 km south-west of Sydney. The entire region is under the local government area of the Wingecarribee Shire. The region is also considered a wine region.

The region specifically is the area centred on the commercial towns of Mittagong, Bowral, Moss Vale, Bundanoon and Robertson as well as the historic town of Berrima. Smaller villages like Burradoo, Sutton Forest, Colo Vale, Avoca, Yerrinbool, Exeter, Welby and many more that make up the Wingecarribee Shire are spread in between and around these main centres and serve mostly as residential areas.

Welcome to the Gingenbullen Mountain Trails!

This trail is made up of caches that take you along some of the farmland on the outskirt of Moss Vale which circles Gingenbullen Mountain. 7 caches are best approached from the Golden Vale Road end of Oldbury Road, while the remainder are accessible from the Illawarra Highway end of Oldbury Road.

There are several spots for cars to pull to the side of the road – shoulders, farm gates and driveways. However cars do travel reasonably fast along this road, so extra care should be taken when merging on/off the road. We recommend this trail is done by bike. We take no responsibility for you making unsafe choices (find the next safest spot and safely walk back).

These caches are all the same. The hiding style for these caches are nearly all the same. A pen will be required. Please respect local farmers and these caches. Enjoy!

Please take care with the cache containers, especially the lids and replace the containers properly.
