Geocache Description:

Many hikers are pursuing a goal of hiking every trail in the White Mountains, called "Redlining".   This goal brings you to some wonderful trails that might not be as popular as others.  The Wheeler Brook Trail does not have any views or points of interest except for a small waterfall on the northwest end of the trail. It is 3.5 miles from one trailhead to the other.  It is not well traveled and extra care is needed in some spots to stay on the trail. There is some elevation gain, some muddy spots, and water crossings.  Only avid redliners or someone looking for a geocache would want to hike this remote trail.  If you choose to take this trail, please refer to the White Mountain Guide!!!

There are two ways to approach this trail. The first trailhead is located off of US 2, 2.3 miles east of the junction of 113.  There is limited parking at the trailhead. Please do not block the gate.  From there you will hike over 2 miles to the cache. The other trailhead begins at a gate at the end of Fire Road 8 which is 1.6 miles from 113 (Evans Notch Road). There is plenty of room for parking. This approach will be closer to the cache, a little over a mile, but will not be accessible in Winter. When I hid this cache, we spotted two cars so we could enjoy the entire trail.

This cache is the tenth that I have hidden with this theme.  If you come in from US 2, be prepared for four water crossings along the way which may be difficult in high water. It is winter friendly up to about a foot of snow. Again, I would highly recommend referring to the White Mountain Guide in planning your hike.

Because of the remoteness of this trail, I have hidden the cache in a Geo-obvious spot and given it a higher terrain rating. Be safe and have fun!
