Whoo Hoo! Here we go again! Bring the kids! Bring the dogs! Bring the kid's dogs and the dog's kids! You might also want to bring any geocaching family and friends! Just be sure to bring yourself to an afternoon of hiking, geocaching, BBQ, prizes, and fun fun fun!
We will meet at the ADA compliant pavilion by 12:45 pm and swap greetings and stories. We will then walk the mostly packed gravel trail around the 2 lakes at Shawnee Mac. The understory of the woods should be in full fall colors. No big inclines, no bushwacking, no biggie! Approximately a 3.5 mile loop crossing bridges, dams, pine groves, hardwood forests, and lake front views.
The hike starts at 1:15 pm. You do not have to go on the hike but, you will miss some of the fun. We will then return to the pavilion we started at and I will grill burgers and dogs. We will provide the meat, buns, and chips. Please bring a covered dish for the dinner. The eating should start by 4:00 pm. You do not have to eat but, hey free food. As the food cooks we will have door prizes and if you have been to one of my events you know I'm pretty likely to bring my geode cracker to break a geode or two. Also, I'm pretty good at placing new caches in this area. The event should end by 5:00 pm.
