The new suburbs of the Molonglo valley are home to some fantastic outdoor public spaces and neighbourhood parks. Here at the park on Serventy Street you will find shaded seating areas, well treed landscaping and a well equipped playground for the geokiddies.
The street names in Wright are named after environmentalists, ornithologists, poets and butterflies. Serventy Street is named after Dominic Louis Serventy (1904 - 1988), an internationally renowned ornithologist, best known for his 30 year study of the migration patterns and biology of mutton birds, and the correlation between the short-tailed shearwater (mutton bird) numbers and southern bluefin tuna activity. Birds Australia awards the D.L. Serventy medal annually for outstanding published works on birds in the Australasian region.
