Geocache Description:

Welcome to the second London Special Equipment Event. On New Year’s Eve 2018 at 1pm to 2pm the event will be held on the icy summit of Mount Primrose at 2,628” high. The special equipment that will be required is an ice-pick for the final 72” of solid ice.

Last year, the special equipment event involved using a rope to climb a steep grassy bank that was very slippery. It was a major success with a high attendance and everyone managing to help each other to reach the event location. This year I decided that we should go higher! Mount Primrose towers over the city of London and this winter 72” of snow and ice will be on the summit. This is where an ice-pick will be required to reach the very top; bring your own one or you may be able to borrow one during the event. Do note it can get very cold and windy at the summit, so do wear appropriate warm clothing and as the effective oxygen is at 20.5% at such height, acclimatisation maybe required.

As with all Geocaching events we meet up to enjoy each other company, exchange Trackables and geochat. The event is friendly for all including cachers with pets and children. Let’s wrap up the caching year on a high!
