A traditional Geocache placed on the trail to Angel Peak in Nevada in the Spring Mountain Range, whilst visting Moose Mob, PhantomWSO and Cloud Craft on another adventure in this amazing location.
Angel Peak Trail is a steep off road trail that ascends to the top of Angel Peak in the Spring Mountain Range near Mount Charleston. It is sometimes referred to as the Lucky Strike Mine road.
This trail is a favorite for Las Vegans to escape the heat in the summer. It offers beautiful views of the Las Vegas valley as well as the surrounding Spring Mountains, including Mt. Charleston. Snow runs are often attempted in the winter, however few actually make it to the top due to the steepness of the trail on both sides.
So why the name of the cache? Well it started to rain whilst we were out exploring! It was not meant to! It should certainly not rain whilst I am here on holiday, so one member of the group got the blame for that! Whilst making our attempt up one of the steep ridges to get to the peak near to this cache, we suffered a puncture in our tyre. This meant that we had to jack the car up, change the tyre and return back home!
We never made it to Angel Peak on this ocassion and this cache is placed just a few feet from where our tyre came to blows! We of course blamed the same Team Member for this problem. I will let you guess which one. So a tribute to the almost made it club.
You will need a 4x4 to get here!
Please note that the cache will be maintained by Moose Mob and the Tres.Amigos
Hope you enjoy the adventure as much as we did! Cache On!
