Between 1880-1890 Fort Stanton troops were very active in the campaigns to control the Warm Springs and Mescalero Apaches who were with the Indian chiefs Victorio, Nana, and Geronimo.

This cache was originally placed for the Fort Stanton’s Wild West Geocache Event held on October 13, 2018 at Fort Stanton, Lincoln County, New Mexico.
