Build in 1941, The Roxburgh Children's Health Camp was a residential home for sickly children. In more recent times it changed it's name to Stand Tu Maia, and moved away from health and worked holistically with children and families who had experienced trauma. Working to increase a child's capacity to live with healthy, hopeful relationships with others. In 2018 the Government chose not to continue to sufficiently fund the service and it closed down. The grounds and buildings are now owned by Ngai Tahu. This geocache is at the entrance to this past gem, it is private property so there is no need to go further than the gates. Please bring your own pen...this is a quick park and grab. Our first hide so fingers crossed you all enjoy it.
