Geocache Description:

The promenade, that is called “Kamisizuhara FUREAIDORI”, was wind break national forest after World War II. Before World War II, the area was used for military training. . And now, you will enjoy to walk and see cherry blossoms in spring. The cache is located at the corner of the promenade. Please bring your pen. 佐倉市上志津原は、佐倉市の西南部に位置し、三方を八千代市・千葉市・四街道市に囲まれています。上志津原地区は戦前軍用地（演習場）で、戦後開拓が始まった町です。上志津原十字路を起点として、西へ南へ、町のほぼ中央を走る真っ直ぐな道があります。国はこの道路沿いの幅１０間（１８ｍ）は農地にせず、国有の防風林として、樹木の植え付けから管理まで、一切合切を入植してきた開拓団に任せました。入植者は全面に「松」を植え、管理を続けてきました。しかし、全国的な「松枯れ現象」もあって、その補植にサクラやヒノキ、イチョウ、クスノキなど、樹木なら何でもありの防風林になっていきました。この防風林は、平成２年（１９９０年）に佐倉市に移管され、平成１１年（１９９９年）に遊歩道へと生まれ変わりました。約１.３ｋｍのこの遊歩道は、「上志津原ふれあいどおり」と名付けられました。キャッシュはこの通りの東の端にあります。筆記具を持参ください。
