Walton was a hamlet sitting outside of Aylesbury and it is a testament to it’s history and place in the local community that it still retains it’s relative independence despite being part of the wider Greater Aylesbury area.
Today Walton is a ward within Aylesbury Town so Walton Hall is not used as a place of administration but the Hall is vibrant and used by community groups and is the local Blood Donation centre. Next door is Holy Trinity Church which has a lovely volunteer run café that opens Tues-Friday serving drinks and cakes.
Historically Walton had a Manor House, which is long gone and more recently Walton Grange which was destroyed by the only bomb to land on Aylesbury during WW2 (also the subject of the Wherigo - Sleeptight Walton Village ).
Walton was the birthplace of William Harding who gave his name (and money) to places in town and created a charity in 1719 that still exists today.
To find this cache, you’ll notice a row of cream coloured engraved stones, find the engraved stone directly to the right of the one engraved “Baptism Roll”
In time honoured fashion (A=1, Z=6) and assuming N51 48 & W0 48 calculate values as follows:
4th letter/8th letter/4th letter \ 1st letter/1st letter/12th letter
