In April 2014 we attended the OzMega event in Murray Bridge, along with hundreds of other mad geo-cachers. Following the event a number of teams took a leisurely trip back to their homes, geocaching as they went. The result of this was seeing the same names pop up in logs as the teams travelled Australia.
This is how we met Roostaman. He followed us from Murray Bridge, up to Darwin, across to Broome and down to Port Hedland, where we finally ended up in the same place at the same time. Roostaman made contact through the geocaching website, and following a cuppa and a chat in Karratha we pooled resources and spent a few afternoons grabbing caches together while staying at Dampier. We crossed paths again regularly and had lots of good times and plenty of laughs with him and his lovely wife. We even managed to successfully find a number of his caches locally while making a dash for Tumut.
We felt this is a fitting place to put a cache for Roostaman, as this is where all good roosters will eventually end up!!! Although as he is getting a bit long in the tooth now we wonder if he will be up to standard.
This is the introduction for our original Roostaman's Nemesis Cache (GC5F2JG) here in Tumut. It has been around for several years now, and having spent a lot more time with both Roosta and Mrs Roosta we decided it was about time we put out a few more caches for him to find when he takes a break from his travels. As with the original hide, there is an inherent challenge to find this one, as Roosta has been a challenge for us since we met him! We are regular visitors to Tumut, as our son and his wonderful family live here and we visit as often as we are able to.
