This is placed on the Empire Area Museum property with permission.
Nothing needs to be moved or otherwise tampered with. Please be repectful.
When I asked about the location the response was "Good, at least it will be used for something."
The cache is located outside so there is no need to enter the building. However, if time permits, I recommend taking time to look around. There are a few outside displays, but inside is where it's at.
"In 1972 the Empire Area Heritage Group was founded to preserve the Empire area's past. This has been accomplished with the aid of a large, dedicated volunteer staff and generous support of the area residents and visitors alike. What began as a one-room display of memorabilia has grown to a complex of four buildings, unique to Northern Michigan's network of museums."
Museum Hours - Weekends from Memorial Day until July 1st 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
Open Daily July and August 1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. (closed Wednesday)
Weekends from Labor Day through Heritage Day (Early Oct)
