Kudhes cache
No doubt Qeparo has a beautiful beach; especially the guesthouse / restaurant Riviera is really lovely, with great staff, delicious cuisine and low prices. We spent quite a lot of time here... :-)
But it would be a great shame to visit Albania and only waste your time at the beach. So, take your car (a front wheel drive will do), drive back to upper Qeparo and in the "center" take the small road to Kudhes. It is just 6 kilometers, the road is not very good, but we did it with Renault Scenic, so no off-road vehicle is really necessary. Follow the river, then, at the first crossing take the road up, and it will start to climb up a bit. Go at the end through the village up to the Parking waypoint coords. Park here and walk the wide, gravel path for about 230 meters to the cache.
After 230 meters there is a very small, hardly visible path to the left, to the hill. Climb it for a few meters, there is a small goat path on your right. At its beginning the cache is hidden.
It is a micro-cache, it only contains a logsheet, so be so kind and bring your own pen.
All the way from the parking to the cache you may (and will) enjoy amazing views to the surrounding mountains.
After logging the cache, I would suggest you to explore the village a little bit. It is really amazing, with a lot of renovated stone houses, narrow streets, small church... and finally the famous square of Kudhes with its old tree. It really feels more like in Greece here than like in Albania; the old lady will greet you with Greek "Jasu" anyway... And she can prepare a very cheap and really good cup of coffee for you.
Now enjoy the drive back down to Qeparo and go to the beach for your well-desired swim. :-)
