Cache placed for the 2018 KNC Geocaching Extravaganza, Fall Edition! The KNC offers a beautiful natural setting to explore, nearly 12 miles on 16 different trails of various terrain, and chances to encounter wildlife! There is an admission fee to hike the trails. The American Robin is Michigan's state bird, and likely the first cache you'll find when visiting Delano, seems appropriate to honor our state bird here!
American Robin trivia:
1) The American robin is the state bird of Connecticut, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
2) Robin's egg blue is a color named after the bird's eggs.
3) The American Robin is in Native American mythology where it got its red breast by fanning the dying flames of a campfire to save a Native American man and a boy.
4) The robin is considered a symbol of spring.
You are looking for a camoed container in the Delano parking lot, stealth will be a must!
