Cache placed for the 2018 KNC Geocaching Extravaganza, Fall Edition! The KNC offers a beautiful natural setting to explore, nearly 12 miles on 16 different trails of various terrain, and chances to encounter wildlife! There is an admission fee to hike the trails. You may have heard the phrase "wise old owl" ... well, this Great Horned Owl cache is going to require a little detective work on your part, and apply your newfound wisdom!
Great Horned Owl trivia:
1) Also known as the Tiger or Hoot Owl.
2) Great Horned owls can apply at least 300 pounds per square inch (PSI) of crushing power in their talons!
3) The Great Horned Owl cannot turn its eyes, but rather can turn its head 270 degrees.
4) Great Horned owls are typically sedentary, rather than migratory, and will keep to a single territory throughout their mature lives.
