Forest 2, next to the cork oak forest contains remnant and planted eucalyptus and grasses, and includes critically endangered Red box / Yellow gum grassy woodlands. You can see that a lot of work is being done to repopulate the trees and grasses. The cache location offers grand views across to Black Mountain and the Tower. Choose your time of day to visit, as an early morning weekday will have you enjoying the motoring sounds of the Glenloch gridlock with most Canberran's driving into Civic.
Please note that access from the Arboretum via Cork Oak Rd is restricted to between 6am and 8.30pm. Access via the William Hovell Drive entrance is 24 hours.
