Enskede IP kan verka vara en av idrottens bakgårdar, men denna idrottsplats är ett av de trevligare exemplen på idrottsanläggningar i Stockholm. Här finns en 11-spels gräsplan och en 11-spels konstgräsplan för fotboll och tre 7-spels fotbollsplaner. Dessutom är det en friidrottsanläggning med löparbana, kastplan och hoppbanor.11-spels konstgräsplanen plogas för spel även vintertid, då det ibland också spolas skidskobanor för stora och små. Enskede IP är lite som Enskede i stort; välskött, präktigt och rätt så medelklassigt. Idrottsplatsen ligger mitt ibland småvillorna i Gamla Enskede, alldeles nära Sockenplans tunnelbanestation. Huvudläktaren rymmer omkring 500 åskådare och är byggd i murat tegel med träbänkar att stå eller sitta på.
Enskedes seniorherrlag har som bäst varit uppe i Division 1 (då Sveriges näst högsta division) 1997-1998 fast laget kom näst sist i tabellen och åkte ur. 2017 åkte laget ur Division 1 och spelar just nu i Division 2.
Enskede IK fick år 2016 av Svenska Fotbollförbundet utmärkelsen "Årets barn- och ungdomsförening i svensk fotboll" tack vare sitt genomgripande arbete med Enskedemodellen, en modell som utan tidig selektering ska skapa bästa möjliga förutsättningar för varje individ att uppnå sin fulla potential som fotbollsspelare.
Enskede IP har varit allsvensk fotbollsarena för inte så längesedan, år 1990 spelade Hammarby sin premiärmatch mot Halmstad här då gamla Söderstadion var under renovering och man lyckades knöla in över 5000 åskådare.
Publikrekordet innehas märkligt nog inte av Hammarby, utan av Jussi Björling, som sjungit opera på Enskede IP inför 6000 åskådare år 1943.
Friidrottarna är de som glänst mest på IP, och idrottsplatsen var när den uppfördes 1927 mest känd för sina hypersnabba kolstybbsbanor. Även idag är Enskede IP hemmaarena för Hammarby Friidrott, som 2018 på uppdrag av Svenska Friidrottsförbundet bjöd in till USM för åldersklasserna 15-16 år, den 3-5 augusti.

Enskede IP may seem to be one of the sports backdrops, but this sports venue is one of the nicer examples of sports facilities in Stockholm. Here is an 11-game grass ground and an 11-game artificial turf and three 7-game grounds for football/soccer. In addition, there is a free-sports facility with running track, javelin- discus- and hammer-throwing as well as a jumping court. The 11-game artificial turf is plowed for play even in wintertime, as sometimes other fields are prepared with skating ice in winter. Enskede IP is a bit like Enskede in large; well-maintained, exquisite and just as middle class. The sports center is in the middle of the small villages in Gamla Enskede, close to Sockenplan metro station. The spectators platform holds about 500 spectators and is built in brick with wooden benches to stand or sit on.
Enskede IP is the home of Enskede IK, formed in 1914, one of Sweden's largest clubs in terms of teams and training groups and number of active, over 2000 in the year 2018. Enskede IK has previously performed bandy, handball and ice hockey but is today a pure football club. Enskede IK is also one of Sweden's biggest football clubs for ladies/girls. The female A-team plays in League 1 Södra Svealand.
The male A-team has been in League 1 as the best (then Sweden's second highest league) in 1997-1998. Unfortunately, the team came second last in the table and left. 2017 the team fell out of League 1 and they are currently playing in League 2.
Enskede IK received in 2016 the Swedish Football Association award "Swedish Children's and Youth Association of the Year in Swedish Football" thanks to its thorough work with the Enskede Model, a now widely recognized model that, without early selection, will create the best possible conditions for each individual to achieve his full potential as a football player.
Enskede IP has actually been a football arena for the Premier league in Sweden not so long ago. In 1990, the top team Hammarby IF played their premiere match against Halmstad here, when their stadium “Söderstadion” was under renovation and managed to fill the arena with over 5000 spectators. But the record of number of spectators is not actually held by Hammarby IF, but by the famous opera singer, Jussi Björling , singing opera at Enskede IP for 6000 spectators in 1943.
Athletes are maybe the ones most fond of IP, and the sports venue was when it was built in 1927, best known for its superfast courts. Even today, Enskede IP is the home of Hammarby IF Friidrott, which in 2018, on behalf of the Swedish Athletes Association, held the Swedish Youth Championships for the age classes 15-16 years, on August 3rd -5th .
