There are tens of thousands of defibrillators now available in workplaces, train stations, leisure centres and other public places across the country.
But sometimes it is difficult to find out where they are.
The brand new defibrillator on the external wall of the supermarket made me think about how many of us really know the location of these lifesavers. We, of course, hope that there will be no need to use the defibrillator but, if there is, I am told that there is a very straightforward set of instructions to be followed. However, to ensure that we are confident about this, training is to be provided by the South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
