Zoomed in on Old Glory
This is a very nice ridge easily accessed from the highway. Too bad about the clearcut, but the views across the valley to Old Glory and other mountains are still well worth the short walk. At the time of hiding, the hillsides were yellow with Western Larch showing it's fall colors. Beautiful.
The intent was to hide a winter friendly cache. A film container with no wire was a poor choice for a container but that was all that was immediately available. The clearcut made making a Winter friendly hide even more challenging. Sort of settled on one location then wandered further afield looking for other possibilities. Once this spot was discovered it was the obvious place to hide something on this ridge.
However it's not that snow friendly. Anything more than a couple of feet, and finding the cache will have to wait until Spring. That's a shame because it would be a nice snowshoe hike.
There is no road, quad trail or hiking trail leading to the hide.
