This small lock and lock is located on the 2,345 m summit of Belmore Browne Peak. Expect an easy off-trail scramble with a round trip hike of 10 kilometers and an elevation gain of 700 meters.
Belmore Browne Peak from the Parking Area:
Belmore Browne Peak is a fairly popular off-trail scramble. Following the logging in the area in recent years and the subsequent reclaimed forestry road, the peak has become even more popular. Thanks to the old forestry road, the bushwhacking is minimal. Park at or near the provided waypoint and drop down onto the forestry road. Hike along it to the west, hopping over Tiara Creek several times when needed. Cairns and flagging help guide you up towards the drainage to Belmore Browne Peak. At the base of the peak, the scramble up to the summit is fairly straight-forward on decent scree. Some very fun scrambling can be found higher up on the peak if you wish, otherwise the route can remain "easy" pretty much all the way to the top. At the summit, enjoy the dual summit of Belmore Browne Peak! The cache is hidden near the west summit. Enjoy!
