This is another long-overdue addition to the unofficial Team Murphy Tribute series at Deer Lake Park. This cache recognizes someone who epitomizes the spirit of geocaching every day. Cees has been a valued teammate and friend for several years, someone you can depend on to have your back.
My most memorable “Caching with Cees” moment occurred back in 2016 when Team Murphy was bike-caching along the KVR Trail. Having already demonstrated a dogged determination to go where more timid cachers (i.e. Me!) might fear to tread, Cees clambered up a steep trailside embankment to grab a D2/T3 cache. In the process, he blew out the tread on one of his shoes. Undaunted, Cees found that cache, signed the log and returned to his bike, ready and eager to find the next one despite the sorry state of his footwear. He simply tossed the fallen piece of rubber aside. If you are caching the KVR Trail, you might still find the sole of his shoe near that cache!
Your footwear should not be in any peril as you go in search of this cache as long as you obey the rules. I would have set the terrain rating to one star but I doubt a cacher in a wheelchair could grab this one easily. If your device suggests otherwise, you might want to give it a moment to catch up. You are looking for a fairly common type of hide. A small GPS (geo-poking stick) might be a useful TOTT.
