This cache is a traditional with no room for swaps. The log is in a larger camouflaged container in the Ardmore area of Derry/Londonderry. Parts of the area resemble the scene of a horror movie including a number of derelict buildings. This cache does not require you to walk into any derelict buildings. Respect the signage indicating unsafe areas and do not cross any fencing where it has been erected. Do not attempt anything that you do not feel is within your capability or safe to do. This cache is located convenient to the road (yes it is in fact a public road not a track!). If you wish you can park at the alternative parking and walk the five minutes to GZ and more fulsomely soak up the atmosphere. Clues are in the hint and may or may not be in the cache page.
An American Werewolf in London is a 1981 horror film which tells the story of two American students, David and Jack, who are on a backpacking holiday in England. Late one night seeking shelter and food, as they trek across the Yorkshire Moors, they happen into a local pub called the Slaughtered Lamb. The pub falls silent and as the boys take a seat Jack passes comment on a five pointed star on the wall. The atmosphere sours and as the two travellers make for the door to go out into the light of a full moon, the warning words of the crowd rings in their ears - don't go off the road. But they do. They are chased down and attacked by a wolf like creature who kills Jack. David tries to run despite his friend’s pleas for help but is caught by the beast and mauled. As death comes near for him the locals arrive and drive off the Werewolf with shotgun blasts. David has survived but contaminated by the bite his world is changed forever. At the next full moon his body shifts and changes and the creature emerges. Then it is his turn to wreak havoc.
Few knew that one of David's surviving London victims had eventually settled in Ardmore seeking peace and quiet far from the madness he had seen in the capital. Some say the beast was in him and still stalks this local place. A ruined wall across the road, stable and strong is the only sign that perhaps a pub once stood here too a long time ago. Who knows? The only thing that is sure is that all is not well. There is a movement in the trees and a howl on the wind. You need to find the cache and get out quick before the beast finds you. Good luck. You'll need it.
