Geocache Description:

Translated from Google: Svelvik Church is a long church from 1859 in Svelvik municipality, Vestfold county. The church was designed by Wilhelm Hanstein, with Christian H. Grosch as a consultant. It redeemed a medieval church church dedicated to Nikolas of Myra. Instead of the altarpiece, the church has stained glass paintings in 1917. They were designed by Sverre Pettersen and performed by Finn Hansen.

The church was extensively restored in 1952. Exterior restoration also began in 2017 and has not yet been completed. It got a new organ (Ryde and Berg) in 2011. The church has rounded (Romanian) window openings, but by the way the expression is more oriented towards neo-Gothicism.

The church can accommodate 450 people.
