This geocache IS NOT at the posted coordinates. The approximate coordinates of the physical cache are posted below as a child waypoint. To determine the actual coordinate, change the LAST number in the Nearby Location as follows:
- If the Nearby Location number is greater than 5, subtract 5
- If the Nearby Location number is less than 5, add 5
- If the Nearby Location number is a 5 substitute zero
- If the Nearby Location number is zero, substitute 5
For Example:
- Nearby Location Coordinate = N 34° 17.800 W 118° 17.164
- Actual Coordinate = N 34° 17.800 W 118° 17.169
The concept for this puzzle was borrowed from the OVC Geoart series (see GC6D0T6) and was designed to be simple enough for everyone to solve.
The Los Alamos Trail is the newest trail in the area. Parking is in Oak Park County Park at N34 17.355 W118 49.124 and costs $2 on weekdays and $5 on weekends. The trail is 6 miles round trip from the parking area with about 300 total elevation gain along the trail. Please follow the trail signs as some roads are still private property in the area.
