THIS IS A FOUR STAGE MULTI.
The walk from the start to the end and back should take about 30 minutes or less. You are on sidewalks all the way. You cross two roads.
Wildwood Park is a residential development unique to Winnipeg and Western Canada. Here, houses and park are integrated so that motor vehicles play a secondary role to pedestrians.
Note how the central walkways create a natural meeting place like the traditional "village greens". Its effect gently influences living patterns and contributes to a strong sense of community.
STAGE ONE is at the posted coordinates. Here you need to determine two sets of three numbers, which will fill ABC and DEF to take you to the next stage at N49 50.ABC W097 08.DEF. Look at the apartment block.
A = the number of letters in the first word of the name.
B =the last digit of the address minus the second digit.
C = the first number of the address.
Look at the light pole number (7 digits).
D = the number of 7's in the number.
E = the last digit minus the first digit.
F = the second last digit.
As a check A+B+C+D+E+F=25.
As you walk from here you will have a wooded area on your right. To the locals this is known as the "Witchy Woods".
STAGE TWO: To solve for stage three you will need to read the sign. This sign is near what we call the "third" park. It is designed for older children. The "middle" playground is for the youngest and the "first" playground is designed for children somewhere in between. Stage THREE is at N49 50.GHI W097 07.JKL
G = the last digit of the year house construction was started.
H = the reunion commemorated by this sign divided by 40.
I = the number of years houses were under construction plus 1.
J = the number of lines of text in the third paragraph.
K = the number of paragraphs.
L = the number of words in the last line.
Checksum = 23 for the six digits.
STAGE THREE: The final is located at N 49 50.MNO W 097 07.PQR. Look at the house number of the house to the north (a two story house with stucco and blue siding - our house! Please wave! We might be watching!) Imagine being here in the spring flood of 1950. The neighbourhood is two years old. There was water almost to the eaves of the one story houses in the lowest areas of the park.! In 1997 the floodway kept the water to TWO feet below the road that goes around "the park".
M = last digit
N = first digit
O = last digit minus first digit
P = last digit minus middle digit
Q = last digit
R = last digit.
The digits should total 29.
We hope you have enjoyed the tour of our neighbourhood.
