Der Milchsteig

Vom Talschluss in Vals führt der ca. 3 km lange Milchsteig hinauf auf die Fane Alm und bringt dem Wanderer auf mehreren interaktiven Stationen die Welt der Südtiroler Milchwirtschaft näher.

Alles rund um die Milch

Milch besteht aus Wasser, hochwertigem Eiweiß, Fett und Milchzucker und enthält viele wertvolle Vitamine und Mineralstoffe. Milch gibt es nicht nur zum Trinken, aus Milch werden noch viele andere Produkte wie Käse, Joghurt, Butter und Sahne hergestellt. Das nährreiche Lebensmittel steht bei vielen in irgendeiner Form auf dem täglichen Speiseplan. Milch ist also beliebt. Aber wo kommt sie her? Wie wird sie verarbeitet? Welche Qualitätskriterien muss sie erfüllen? Dies und viele andere äußerst interessante und für den Nichtbauern teils unbekannte Fakten zur Milch aus Südtirol erfährt man bei den kreativ gestalteten Stationen des Milchsteigs - ein toller und lehrreicher Erlebnispfad für Groß und Klein!

Der Cache

Der Multi "The Milky Way" führt an den Stationen des Milchsteigs entlang und die rund 3 Kilometer und 340 Höhenmeter sind in ca. einer Stunde zu schaffen. Der Milchsteig kann auch im Winter begangen werden, allerdings benötigt man winterfestes Schuhwerk und auf den letzten Metern zum Cache könnte etwas mehr Schnee liegen. Wer noch Lust hat, kann in ca. 10 Minuten zum alten Bergdorf Fane Alm weiterwandern und dort in einer der bewirtschafteten Hütten ein Glas frischer Milch genießen oder ein Stück Bergkäse mit nach Hause nehmen!

The milk trail

The approx. 3 km long milk trail leads from the head of the valley in Vals up to the Fane Alm and brings hikers closer to the world of South Tyrolean dairy farming on several interactive stations.

Everything about the milk

Milk consists of water, high-quality protein, fat and milk sugar and contains many valuable vitamins and minerals. Milk is not just for drinking, milk is used to make many other products such as cheese, yoghurt, butter and cream. This nutritious food is on the daily diet of many in some form. Milk is popular. But where does she come from? How is it processed? Which quality criteria does it have to fulfill? This and many other extremely interesting facts about milk from South Tyrol, which are partly unknown to the non-farmers, can be found at the creative stations of the milk trail - a great and instructive adventure trail for young and old!

The cache

The multi-stage cache "The Milky Way" leads along the stations of the milk trail and the approx. 3 kilometers and 340 vertical meters can be done in about one hour. The milk trail can also be done in winter, but you need winter-proof footwear and on the last meters to the cache could be a little more snow. If you still feel like it, you can walk to the old mountain village of Fane Alm in about 10 minutes and enjoy there a fresh glass of milk in one of the huts, or take a piece of mountain cheese home with you!
