This series of caches will tell you about different community orchestras in the SF Bay Area. This is an especially rich area for amateur music. Each of these caches will also have a clue in it, the name of a composer. Collect all the composer names to get the coordinates for a bonus cache. The bonus cache, or Community Orchestra Series Final, is GC81X7C
.
The 7th cache in the series highlights the Palo Alto Philharmonic. The Palo Alto Philharmonic Association is a registered non-profit organization, governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. In addition to presenting musically stimulating concerts at reasonable prices and in venues convenient to many, the Philharmonic is dedicated to encouraging all — young and old — to perform and appreciate serious contemporary and classical music. Their members and audience come from all over the Bay Area to make and enjoy music together. In addition to four Orchestra Concerts they present two Chamber Concerts and a Family Concert. They rehearse in the nearby Cubberley Community Center.
The birdhouse that used to be here came from a raffle won by my husband. Unfortunately it was too cute and a bird must have flown away with it. The second container was a large rock that someone must have thought was really cool. The latest container is another one gotten from a raffle at a GBA event. The composer clue is written on the log. Stealth will be needed when people are coming in and out of the athletic fields, and now there is a bit of bushwhacking to get to it.
Congrats to halhal on the FTF!
