Cape St. Francis is the northeast point of the Avalon Peninsula, just beyond the town of Pouch Cove. While there was a thriving fishing community here once upon a time, now the Cape and nearby Biscan Cove are home to only a handful of cabin dwellers and a helicopter launch pad.
This cache is one in a series of 9 caches, intended to provide a nice day of hiking on a section of the East Coast Trail that has a little bit of everything. If coming in the fall or spring in particular, wear waterproof hiking boots, as even the established East Coast Trail skirts brooks and bogs in places which are quite wet. With that said, the trail in general is excellent, with varied terrains and views.
If you want a quick park and grab only and are in the area, park at the closest listed parking area at what appears to be a small parking spot for an earlier version of the East Coast Trail and you'll be at ground zero in seconds.

If you are planning the day hike version, you can choose to park here or park at the East Coast Trail parking area at Cape St.Francis, and start with hide #1 of 9. From this cache (#9) back to your car is a 10 minute downhill stroll after you come back out of the trail here. (Going on the trail in the other direction (starting here at 9 and going to 1) would have you walking steeply uphill at the end of your hike to get back to your car ;)
The cache is a 600mL camo'd bottle, with a TB along with the usual logsheet and swag upon initial hide.
