After a 10-6 season, including a week 17 shootout with the undefeated New England Patriots, The Giants steamrolled through the playoffs defeating Tampa Bay, Dallas, and a frigid Green Bay (Brett Farve’s final game as a Packer). Riding on a 10 game visiting winning streak, the Giants rolled into Glendale, AZ as the visiting team on the neutral turf.
After a low scoring first 3 quarters, the final 5 min of the 4th quarter proved to be the most exciting of the entire game. The defining, game-winning drive was continued by David Tyree’s helmet catch, perhaps the greatest play in Super Bowl history, and completed with only 35 seconds left with a touchdown to Plaxico Burress in the left corner of the endzone.
