Geocache Description:

During a home improvement project, the hired handyman was in the process of removing a small window to replace it with a larger one when he noticed some strange writing and symbols of the studs of the exposed wall. The woman of the house was doing some gardening in the backyard when the handyman asked her to come check out what he had found. As they were viewing the markings, a sudden feeling of unexplained terror surrounded them. The air in the room became heavy, musty, with a hint of the smell of salt water and the sea.

A couple months after the remodeling job was complete, the wife of the house was preparing a special supper for her and the husband. As she was setting the table, she gazed outside through the newer larger window and noticed a man standing there starring at her. He was dressed in dark clothing and wore a old sailors cap. She was partially startled, but became frightened when the man vanished into thin air. During the meal, the wife told the husband what happened and what she had seen. The husband jokingly said, it was probably just a ghost.

Weeks later, the husband was doing some yardwork in the backyard. When he glanced up towards the house, he noticed a man walk by the window dressed in dark clothing and a sailors cap. Just as his wife had described from the night of special supper. He told his wife what he saw and said he wouldn't joke or doubt her again. The couple would see the sailor dozens of times over the next few years.

After a few years of the initial siting, at a neighbors house just up the street, a young teenage boy noticed a figure out of the corner of his eye. As scared as he was, he turned to get a better view of who was standing in the doorway to his bedroom. The figure vanished before the boy could get a good view. At first his family didn't believe him, and thought it was just his imagination. It wasn't until each of the family members eventually seen the sailors figure themselves, starting with his younger sister, that they knew he was telling the truth. As time goes by, more and more of the neighbors see this sailor walking the streets of the neighborhood.
