Note - trail will be wet and muddy in autumn / winter. A tiny-wee cache located in a woodland area dating back to the Middle Ages. Until the early 1900s there were some dwellings here and a well which served the nearby farm. There is a nearby fishing lake which is worth a walk around. This cache may be tricky to find but it’s a lovely area for a walk and near the road outside the woodland there are several information boards with some more history on the land and the well that served it. You may need a pair of tweezers with you and don’t forget your pen. Please place the cache back exactly where you (hopefully) found it.
Trail Blurb:
The main trail consists of 12 caches in a very loose circle numbered 1 to 12 (which can be done in any order). Between 1 and 3 is a mystery cache which can be included but some homework (online in the field if you prefer) needs to be done in advance to find the cache coordinates.
The trail can be done in any order but suggested starting point is number 1 with free parking available at Jubilee Fields pavilion a short distance from the start.
Please note there are small sections of road walking so please take care (especially with children and dogs). You are also likely to see livestock (bulls, cows, sheep and horses for example) so again please take care with any younger cachers / hounds.
I have tried to be fairly generous with hints to ensure most, if not all caches, can be found.
In addition to the main 12 caches there is a mini trail of 4 extra caches to the north (also prefixed with the Jubilee name). These can be done after number 6 to extend the overall walk, done on a separate occasion or ignored completely. Many thanks.
