Pond Restoration at Hucclecote Meadows 11:00 – 15:00
Saturday the 17th November
Parking: There is some on street parking opposite the reserve on Laxton Road (or in many of the other side streets nearby).
Where: We will meet by the gate or find us in the pond (published co-ordinates).
What: Continuing with what we started last year, we will be working to dig out reed and vegetation from the central area of the pond.
This will prevent the pond from becoming overgrown with vegetation.
The material will be mounded around the edge of the pond to build up the bank in places to make it more usable for pond dipping.
How: Felicity the Countryside Ranger will be there providing guidance and any necessary tools.
If you are going in the pond, wellies are essential as well as ‘old’ clothes which people don’t mind getting stinky and muddy!
There will be jobs around the outside of the pond if you would prefer to stay a bit dryer and cleaner.
Health and Safety: All health and safety rules apply. Children will need close supervision and pets kept under control.
