This one is placed near a public boat launch on Lake Nokomis. There was a geocache here before but urban development (concrete pad and picnic table) took it away. Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company (WVIC) owns and operates this reservoir to help control flow for the Wisconsin River. Ultimately the water here goes downstream for hydro power production along the Wisconsin River hydro dams and then flows to the Mississippi River. Eventualy it all ends up in the Gulf Of Mexico. Permission for the placement is thru WVIC recreation licensing from FERC (federal energy regulatory commission) who grants WVIC the license to operate this impoundment. The entire reservoir is open to the public for recreation. No camping is allowed on this particular reservoir. Activities allowed are boating, swimming, waterskiing, snowmobiling, fishing, trapping, snowshoeing, cross country skiing. Spend at least a few minutes here and enjoy one of the best views on the lake. It can be a high muggle area so please be stealth when searchig and retrieving.
