This marks the turn off to MacPhersons Plains - once a stopping place for drovers, prospectors and other travellers. Cattle were driven from Kiandra to Tumbarumba, a journey that usually took about 3 days. Just imagine how happy drovers and other travellers would be to reach MacPhersons Plains.
