Geocaching HQ Admin: From June 06, 2018 until March 06, 2019, Geocaching HQ conducted an Augmented Reality (AR) experiment. During that time, cache owners were allowed to submit Mystery Caches that required the finder to download and use an AR app to find the cache. The goal of the experiment was to see how the geocaching community would use AR technology. Cache owners placed more than 600 AR caches around the world!

Unfortunately, the AR apps which met HQ’s requirements for the experiment have been or are currently in the process of being discontinued. As a result, it is currently not possible for finders to have the AR experience that was originally intended. Therefore, HQ has decided to archive all active AR caches placed during the experiment period. We are respectfully requesting that all AR cache owners please remove the cache container and contents as soon as possible.

As technology evolves, we look forward to seeing how Augmented Reality might have future applications for geocaching. Thank you to all cache owners who participated in the experiment!

ANOTHER TALK2AZS CACHE HUNT ORIGINAL!!!


IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The physical cache hide is NOT located inside Stone Mountain Park!
After you complete the field puzzle portion of this cache hunt, you will be given EASY instructions on how to get to and find the final cache container!
ALSO: The onsite field puzzle is actually quite easy. This cache is designed to demonstrate additional ideas that can be implemented into AR cache hides.

This cache is a part of the Geocaching experiment of AR(Augmented Reality) caches.
Since Groundspeak has extended the experiment time for this type of cache, I decided to continue to take AR caches to the next level of creativity and show what other creative ideas can be implemented.

BYOP...Bring You Own Pen to sign the log! I did not place a pen inside the cache due to the cache being placed during the freezing weather period!

Metaverse ALERT!
Metaverse is officially on Life Support! It appears that Gometa.io has taken the servers down, the Metaverse Experience is not working for this cache anymore. And I am unable to log into the studio to edit or create a new Experience.

GOOD NEWS!
Seeing how this is now the second time an AR app provider has quit supporting their AR experience divisions, I decided to build my own AR hosting server. So this AR experience is now running on my AR Experience Hosting Server. The best part is that you do not have to install any additional apps on your mobile device!

How to use the TALK2AZS AR EXPERIENCE WEB APP
This web app requires you to use your Android or Apple web browser and device camera to scan QR codes. Make sure your web browser is enabled to run JavaScript. Apple tends to have Javascript disabled by default, so check your Apple web browsers for this.

Now all you have to do is open your camera app to scan the QR codes. The AR Experience should open up in your web browser. If not, just follow your on screen instructions.

To test your device, follow these instructions.
Below is a QR code you can scan with your device's camera, which will launch a TEST Experience to see if your device is configured properly.

CACHE HUNT DESCRIPTION
============================
NOTE: BRING ALONG SOME PAPER AND A PEN TO TAKE NOTES. YOU WILL NEED THEM TO HELP YOU PIECE THE PUZZLE TOGETHER!

At the posted coordinates, located in the Harold Cox Nature Garden inside Stone Mountain Park, you will find over 40 podium style mounted information signs along the short paths, including the 3 along the sidewalk near the road. There are a few podium mounts that do not have signs on them, which are not in use during this onsite puzzle. The podium mounts with signs contain information that can only be extracted by using an AR application, which in this case is the TALK2AZS AR EXPERIENCE WEB APP.

Once you arrive at the Nature Garden, start looking for the individual signs. Open your device's Camera app and scan the QR code shown below. NOTE: Print the QR code images shown at the bottom of this cache page and take it with you on this hunt. You could also use a second device displaying this cache page and the QR code below as an alternate way of QR code scanning. After you scanned the QR code, your device should display over 40 experiences, one experience for each individually titled sign in the garden. Standing in front of each sign, tap on the experience titled the same as the sign you are standing in front of. Now tap the Play button to launch the experience for that sign. and follow the instruction given. NOTE: The experiences will only launch when you are physically in the Nature Garden, and at each individual sign.

At the end of the game, you will be given the option of entering your name so that you will appear in the Puzzle Solution E-Log above. Please note that this is optional. You will also be given a code that you can use to start finding the 5 bonus Leapfrog Puzzle caches. PLEASE NOTE: The code given will expire 1 week from the time it was given to you. If your code expires, you will either have to solve all the puzzles on those cache pages, or perform the AR game again to obtain a new code.

This is all the information I can give you right now! The rest is up to you to figure out. Don't worry! You will find it quite EASY to figure this puzzle out! If I told you more, I would be giving you too much information that would take the fun out of this hunt.
