UPDATE_ As of May 2020, the new location is ... see the hint for more clues... various locations haven't worked for the long term. Hoping this one lasts.
How have I missed this mural?? This will conclude the art series for now. I think ten caches showcasing art around Salinas is good for now. So I challenge you to find all ten and stay tuned for some possible puzzle or muti-caches in the future.
Back to this mural... It really made me think of the Mary Poppins song, Sister Suffragette by Glynis Johns
I will post lyrics below if you're dying to know the song playing in my head.
I think I missed this mural because the road is one way and I never face this building while I'm driving. But I found myself parking here after dropping off the little one to dance studio nearby and here it is - wow! What a great mural!
Enjoy!
Song Lyrics...
We're clearly soldiers in petticoats
And dauntless crusaders for woman's votes
Though we adore men individually
We agree that as a group they're rather stupid!
Cast off the shackles of yesterday!
Shoulder to shoulder into the fray!
Our daughters' daughters will adore us
And they'll sign in grateful chorus
"Well done, Sister Suffragette!"
From Kensington to Billingsgate
One hears the restless cries!
From ev'ry corner of the land:
"Womankind, arise!"
Political equality and equal rights with men!
Take heart! For Missus Pankhurst has been clapped in irons again!
No more the meek and mild subservients we!
We're fighting for our rights, militantly!
Never you fear!
So, cast off the shackles of yesterday!
Shoulder to shoulder into the fray!
Our daughters' daughters will adore us
And they'll sign in grateful chorus
"Well done! Well done!
Well done Sister Suffragette!"
