Geocache Description:


The cache is located at a memorial for Private William Fraser, 1759-1844.  He served as a private in the Continenntal Army during the Revolutionary War.  The memorial was erected the the Schellsburg-Napier High School in 1950.  One source claims that William was the son of John and Jean Fraser who settled in Bedford County in 1758 after following troops from Fort Cumberland.  If anyone has additional information regarding the memorial and William Fraser, please share.

There is a pull off at the site of the memorial along Route 31.  The cache is should be an easy find.  Do not wander far from the memorial as you will cross onto posted property.  Night caching is not recommended due to the proximity of the roadway.  Please use care pulling off and on the roadway.
