Geocache Description:

Happy Winter! We'll be placing trackables in the Amazing Places Geotour caches at random throughout the season. If you find one, follow the directions and be sure to tag us at #amazingplacesmabr to let us know so we can follow along!

Bring your own pencil for this one! This cache has been replaced by a microcache due to recurring theft/vandalism and no longer contains a coin. It is still very close to the original coordinates though. And by close, we mean just across the roadway and attached to a similar structure as the original coordinates. If you have any trouble, decrypt the clue to get more information. Be sure it is securely attached before you leave so muggles won't spot it! No need to complete the coin rubbing section for this one. You'll still get your prize without it. Have fun!

The Amazing Places GeoTour (GT8F) will send you on an inspiring adventure to the region's most beautiful natural places. Get your Amazing Places GeoTour Field Guide, downloadable for free from the Amazing Places website here or purchase one at the Parksville Chamber of Commerce or Tigh-Nah-Mara Resort Gift Shop during open hours.

Use the guide to complete the Cache Code Collection Page, including a unique coin rubbing at each of the 8 physical geocache sites to prove your find, and answer the geoclue by finding each of the 10 Amazing Places interpretive signs at each site. Redeem your completed Cache Code Collection Page for a customized Amazing Places GeoTour Geocoin (while supplies lasts).

A beloved gathering place for residents and visitors alike, the Parksville Community Park is located along a picturesque and ecologically significant stretch of the Salish Sea. This park was designed to connect people with nature and to call attention to incredible natural phenomena such as the Brant geese who pause here every spring to feed on herring roe on their journey from Mexico to Alaska. This Amazing Place is the jewel of Parksville.
