This site may have been part of the great stock route that ran from Kiandra to Tumbarumba during the gold rush days. The stock route was reputed to be a mile wide and very well used by travellers and drovers alike. There is still much evidence of mining in the area. Gold being the most commonly sought after but tin mining was popular as well. Along Powerline Road there is an abandoned tin mine . 4x4 would be the preferred vehicle fpr this road
