GeoNord 2022 - CITO du Pays à Part Cache In Trash Out Event

Pour bien commencer ce troisième jour du Méga, nous vous proposons un Cache in Trash Out Event (CITO) aux Terrils du Pays à Part !

A quelques encablures du parc d’Olhain, cet espace naturel protégé de près de 100 hectares est dominé par deux terrils jumeaux de plus 180 m de hauteur offrant une vue imprenable sur l’Artois.
Composé de milieux très variés, vallons, boisements, zones humides, mares ou encore pelouses thermophiles, ce véritable « Pays à Part » issu de l’exploitation du charbon est classé au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO.

Cache in Trash Out Event (CITO) est une initiative environnementale soutenue par la communauté du geocaching. Le principal objectif de ce programme est de nettoyer et de préserver les zones naturelles que nous traversons lorsque nous pratiquons notre loisir favori.

L'accueil se fera aux coordonnées indiquées sur le listing à partir de 10h. Nous vous fournirons les sacs poubelles et les gants. N’hésitez pas à apporter votre propre matériel ou votre pince si vous en avez une ! Le ramassage commencera un peu après 10h et se terminera à 12h.

Conformément à la réglementation du site, nos amis à quatre pattes doivent être tenus en laisse. Merci par ailleurs de rester sur les sentiers !

To start the third day of the Mega, we offer you to participate in a Cache in Trash Out Event (CITO) at the Pays à Part's slag heaps!

At a stone's throw from the Park of Olhain, this protected natural area of almost 100 hectares is dominated by two twin slag heaps over 180 m high offering a breathtaking view of Artois. Composed of varied environments, valleys, woods, wetlands, ponds, or even thermophilic lawns, this outsized site resulting from the exploitation of coal is classified as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

CITO is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. The main aim of this program is to clean up and preserve the natural areas that we enjoy while geocaching. These events focus on litter clean-up, removal of invasive species, planting trees and vegetation and trail building.

We will meet at the coordinates indicated on the listing at 10:00am. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. Do not hesitate to bring your own gear or pliers if you have one! The litter clean-up will start promptly after 10am and will end at 12pm.

In accordance with site regulations, our four-legged friends must be kept on a leash. Thanks for staying on the trails during the CITO!
