The 1844 lighthouse on Savage Island, locally know as Laychindaung, can be seen from the Sittwe Viewpoint and from anywhere on Sittwe beach.
It takes an organized 45-minute boat-trip to get there and you will be rewarded with a visit to an uninhabited island, great views of the Bay of Bengal and some easy rock-climbing.
Boats usually land on the beach. From there it is a 5-minute walk through the brushes to the rocky side of the island from where you can access the lighthouse and the cache.
