It seems like the 1980s are making a comeback. This year, the Wintergarden caches pay tribute to some of the trends that should stay masked by the filter of nostalgia.
Hair was bigger and better in the 80s, for both men and women. Teasing, backcombing, and crimping were all a part of the process, as was excessive use of AquaNet. If your hair wasn't at least 6" from your head and crunchy, you weren't doing it right. Bands like Mötley Crüe, Night Ranger, and Def Leppard typify this genre, which eventually lost out to the flannel and torn jeans of Seattle grunge.
The B.G. Parks mandate for the geocaches at Wintergarden Preserve is to bring people here to visit our wonderful city resource, keep the social trails to a minimum, and to provide opportunities for families to interact with nature. Caches are replaced every October(ish). This year, in an effort to minimize wandering, most of the containers are attached to something. Please do not tighten any zip ties; they are loose to protect live vegetation and to allow more space to access the cache container.
