Geocache Description:

Chapel view ( George Jr. Republic)

I had a cache for Burdock near here, but that, as well as a lot of the nearby vegetation, is gone, to open up for a bench with a view. The focus of that view is the Chapel.

Christ Chapel

The chapel was designed by Auburn, NY native Julius Schweinfurth and built in 1900. It was renovated in 1995 and is used by local congregations and the community at large for worship, special events and weddings.

Please note that the Chapel is open for public events from late spring to mid-September as there is no heat source at this time.

This from <https://theodora.com/encyclopedia/g/george_junior_republic.html>:

The religious influence is strong, wholesome and unsectarian; students in Auburn Theological Seminary have assisted in the religious work; Roman Catholic and Hebrew services are also held; and attendance at church services is compulsory only on convicts and prisoners.

The cache is a standard KET cache: Tied in, camoed, micro pill bottle.

PLEASE: Take care of the bag, rubber band, log and keep it tied in!

1.Roll the log tightly, secure it with the rubber band.

2. Put it in the bag and seal, starting from either edge.

3. The rubber band helps to keep the bag intact.

Thanks!
