Before the 1960s, Kwong Fuk’s location was not land, but the shore of the Tai Po Sea. It was the place where the fishing boats were moored. In the 1980s, the reclamation project was carried out, and the entire coastline was pushed from the old market of Tai Po to the location of Kwong Fuk Estate. It was connected with Yuen Chau Tsai, which was originally an isolated island, to form the site of the present Kwong Fuk Village and Wang Fuk Court.
