Geocache Description:

Day 8 - 2018 Cachemas in STL

THE SLAGA TWELVE DAYS OF CACHEMAS ARE BACK!!!

The Cache Sled has landed with eight Maids a milking!!!!

Here’s how it works: For 12 consecutive days beginning December 12th (Day 1), a new cache will be published and every day afterwards until December 23rd. If you are able to First to Find, FTF, one of these daily caches, an FTF Cachemas Ornament will be in the container for you to keep. Once again, L Frank has designed a unique ornament that can be converted to a cache container for a future hide; or, you may keep it, your choice. PLEASE, if you get an FTF on one of the 12 days, do not go for another one until day 13, let someone else have the fun.

Again, there will be a Bonus Cache on the 13th day, December 24th. EVERYONE is eligible to find the bonus whether or not you have FTFed a Cachemas hide. This cache can only be found by using all the codes written on the inside of the container lid of each daily cache. Keep these codes and use them to solve the location of the Bonus cache which will publish on the final day, December 24th. The Bonus solution will be included in the final day Cache description and I am promised, it is not a difficult solution.

THE BONUS CACHE CONTAINS TWO LARGE PREMIUM GEOCOINS

AS WELL AS AN AWESOME ORNAMENT

Have fun and remember to thank Brandt Teske, aka 87preludea20a3, in your log. He brought this great series to St. Louis.

This Geocache Description: Cachemas Day 8; Milking It

For many members in Slagaland the Cachemas season is one of the many highlights surrounding the December holidays.  While many believe the “Twelve Days of Christmas” song is secretly coded symbolism for religious teaching that is not widely accepted.  Many offer different theories on the song’s meaning and there are many theories to the song’s origin.  Bottomline…it doesn’t really matter what the song means or where it came from.  The song has formed the basis of the Cachemas season!

Today is day eight, better known in the song as Eight Maids a Milking Day.  It just so happened that Bmzdaddy had a container that would be most appropriate for the day.  The last couple of Cachemas containers placed by Bmzdaddy have been relatively easy, so he decided to change it up a bit for this year.  While the terrain and the puzzle are quite easy, you will need a little bit of time to gather the clues to obtain the final location.  Speaking of which…here ya go….

You can start at either location but you must visit both locations to gain all the needed information for the final.  There is parking available at both locations.  Hurry up now if you want to be first!

Location one:

Go to N38° 43.571 W090° 29.140.  You will see a sculpture there.  Answer the following question.   The correct answer will be the first half on the coordinates you need.  Once you are satisfied that you have the correct answer go to the next location.  The Question is:

What is the last name of the artist of this sculpture?

A:  Ernest = N38 44.xxx  W090 28.xxx

B:  Trova = N38 41.xxx W090 30.xxx

C: Corten = N38 43.xxx W090 28.xxx

D: Steel = N38 40.xxx W090 32.xxx

Location two:

Go to N38°39.172 W090° 34.431.  You will find a sculpture here.  Answer the following question to obtain the second half of the coordinates.

What is the middle name of the artist for this sculpture?

A: Yue = xxx xx.043  xxxx. xx.092

B: Chen = xxx xx.236 xxxx xx.459

C: Datian = xxx xx.943 xxxx xx.457

D: Ling = xxx xx.792 xxxx xx.640

Good Luck!

Congrats to Steve.n.erin on the FTF!
