This cache is placed at the DOC operated Otamahua Hut which was opened recently on Quail Island. Otamahua means 'the place where children collected seabird eggs'. Quail Island was once known as 'Te Kawakawa' probably in reference to the pepper tree of the same name. European settlers later named the island after the New Zealand Quail/koreke which are abundant on the island. The hut here looks like a great place to stay and there are toilets at the back if needed. Watch out for muggles staying in the hut, although there was nobody around when I placed the cache.
