Michigan Winter Events

March 7-17 2019
Gilda’s Laugh Fest, the nation’s first-ever community-wide festival of laughter, has quickly earned a reputation for being one of the nation’s marquee events for both participants and artists. This major 10- day Midwest festival is based in Grand Rapids and includes events throughout West Michigan. Created by Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids and launched in March 2011 to celebrate laughter for the health of it, the festival features stand-up, improv, showcases, and a variety of seriously funny stuff.
We are serious about our “funny” here. LaughFest brings together a diverse audience of children and adults every March to honor laughter as an essential part of emotional health and wellbeing. And what better time for a laughter festival than when it’s typically cold, icy, and distinctly un-funny outside?
For many years you could spot our own "Red Head Mary" as her alter ego "Sparkle" at many of these events.

This cache is a night cache. It is located in Paris Park. This park is part of the Plaster Creek watershed and is prone to flooding. If there has been significant snow melt or heavy rain recently you may want to pick a different time to do this cache. While I will not deliberately have you wading, appropriate footwear is recommended as there may be wet areas along the path. Posted hours for the park are 7AM to 10 PM
At the posted coords you will find a number of different paths you could choose. Shine your light high and look for the spot shining back at you. Follow them as you enjoy an evening walk in the park. When you come to a group of three you have found the prize.
