Geocache Description:

The Royal Malaysian Police Museum (Malay: Muzium Polis Diraja Malaysia) in Kuala Lumpur is a museum that showcases the history of the Malaysian police force and their achievements. The museum includes exhibits from the history of the Royal Malaysia Police since its origins under British colonial rule until the 1970s.

The original Royal Malaysian Police Museum was started in 1958 under the supervision of Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) in Jalan Gurney (now known as Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra) under Superintendent P.B. Gerry Waller. Its early collections exhibited the instructional materials from the Police Training Centre including weapons seized from communist and other criminals.

To accommodate the growing number of artifacts, a new museum was built at the site of the seniors' Mess at Jalan Venning (now known as Jalan Perdana) on 18 February 1993 and was operational in July 1998.
